Two big roller derby events in such a short time? What a time to be a VRD fan! The highly anticipated Oysters tripleheader of the season against Zurich City Roller Derby and Roller Derby Caen took place on November 16, 2024 at AHS Theodor Kramer. Three intense games, enthusiastic fans and unforgettable moments.

Game 1: VRD Oysters vs. Zurich City Roller Derby

The first game of the day pitted our A-Team against the Zurich City Roller Derby team on the track. At first everything looked like a win for VRD, as there was a clear point difference before halftime. But Zurich surprised in the second half with an impressive comeback and collected a lot of points in a short time. In the end, the victory remained with VRD with a score of VRD Oysters 210 : 125 AllstarZ.

Game 2: Zürich City Roller Derby vs. Roller Derby Caen

In the second match, Zurich City Roller Derby and Roller Derby Caen met – a real power duel with spectacular hits and an intense game. Both teams gave it their all and the crowd loved the energy on the track. Finally, the AllstarZ secured victory with a score of AllstarZ 189 : 79 RDC.

Halftime highlight: Arm wrestling match

For the first time in the history of the Oysters tripleheader, there was a special highlight during the halftime break: an arm wrestling match! Brave people from the audience competed against members of the VRD Beasts. In addition to fame and honor, participants had the chance to win tickets for a future bout. (The raffle is still pending – we will contact you soon! 😉)

Game 3: VRD Oysters vs. Roller Derby Caen

Our Oysters played the final against the Roller Derby Caen team. A thrilling game with many highlights and the fans cheered them on from the stands – often literally “on the edge of their seats”! In the end, the Oysters proved their strength and took the win with a score of VRD Oysters 222 : 74 RDC.

Show performance: The Fearleaders

During the half-time break of the third game, the Fearleaders provided an extra dose of energy and heated up the audience with their rousing performance.
